Special assembly was conducted during the festival of Christmas in the school to inculcate the values of the festival among the students. The attractive part of the assembly was that it was conducted in French Language to share the diverse culture of India and France under the ISA activity of British council.Students sang the carols, danced on French songs and recited national anthem in French only. It allowed two of the cultures to share and learn from each other.
Also students made posters , puzzles showing various differences in attire,food and lifestyle of India and France.

Workshop on self-defence for girls organised by

School Safety Committee

The School Safety Committee of Doon Public School organised a two day self-defence workshop for the girls in the school premises on 8 and 9 May 2018. It was organised in association with SRP Care for India Foundation. The guest for the event was Ms. Sushma Sharma, Director - SRP Care for India Foundation, who vigorously motivated the girls to become strong and independent.

The aim of this workshop was to empower the girls with self-defence techniques in case of emergencies. The techniques were demonstrated and practiced with vigour in the central courtyard under the able guidance of the instructors.

It was an initiative to develop a sense of freedom in the girls and emphasise on the importance of being self-sufficient during the times of adversity. The students really enjoyed the workshop and vowed to build strong mental and physical fitness in order to protect themselves from threats.

British council Activities(2017-2018)

Student exchange program offers broad-based benefits for students keen to embark n international adventure. International learning and knowledge propels students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives. Keeping up with the same belief Soon Public School had undertaken an exchange program with Delta Gemunapura MV School in Sri Lanka from 4th April to 7 th April 2018.7 students of different age groups  accompanied by 3 teachers visited the school in Sri Lanka and stepped Forward towards global citizenship. 
The visit gave our students an insight into Sri Lanka culture, traditions and life style of their people .As a part of British Council ISA project our students collaborated with Sri Lankan school  on two projects namely festivals and Fermentation -tiffin box activity. 
Our students performed Ganesh Vandana depicting the celebrations of our religious festival Diwali and other harvest festival of different Indian states in their New Year festival celebrations. Students of Delta Gemunapura had organised games also for our students .our students were also given a platform to share their views about our rich Indian culture and significance of national flag. On the next day our students performed experiment on fermentation in their science lab and explained the process well to the students of Delta Gemunapura  school. Host school students  had exhibited different fermented foods of Sri Lanka. 
They displayed other ISA activities also. 
A fun filled picnic was organised by the host school .Students of both the schools interacted and exchanged their views and culture while enjoying the local tourist places of Sri Lanka like Ramboda falls, tooth temple etc. 
The visit was a fruitful experience for both teachers and students.

DOON PROPAGATES THE FITNESS MANTRA, THIS WORLD HEALTH DAY.

“Health is the greatest gift, contentment, the greatest wealth.”
Doon Public School celebrated the World Health Day with great élan on 20th April 2018. The theme for this year being ‘universal health coverage –health for all’, the aim was to draw the attention towards the importance of ‘global health’.
A special assembly was organized for the purpose so that the students, teachers, parents and other visitors should be made aware of the manifold benefits of maintaining good health. The assembly was graced by the Vice-Principal, Ms. Malini Panikkar and the Head-Mistress, Ms.Vidhu Vijayan Biju.
The special guest on the occasion was Mr.Abhishek, a renowned Yoga instructor, who propounded the fact that practicing yoga is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, contributing to longevity and quality of life. He taught the different nuances of yoga to a group of exuberant students like the famous Trikonasana,Vriksasana, Sukhasana so on and so forth.
This interesting yoga session was followed by a lively aerobics session performed by another group of students from classes 9th and 10th under the guidance of Ms. Chehak Mehta, a teacher and fitness enthusiast. This vigorous session sent across a wave of energy and left behind glee and merriment amongst the audience.
Overall, the session helped the students to gain a global outlook on the subject of exercise/fitness and nurture an attitude of healthy living amongst them.
